With over a decade of experience in the Australian finance industry, Joshua Carleton brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and client-first values to his latest venture, Straight Forward Finance Brokers. Joshua began his career in 2012 with ANZ Bank, quickly rising to become a Branch Manager on the Sunshine Coast. In 2015, he transitioned into mortgage broking with Aussie Home Loans, where he was recognised as Queensland’s #1 Broker for three consecutive quarters and Australia’s #1 Broker for two quarters in the 2016 financial year.

Joshua joined SMS Finance in 2016, further cementing his reputation as a dynamic and results-driven finance professional. His academic credentials include a Bachelor of Business (Management and Marketing) from the University of the Sunshine Coast, along with multiple industry qualifications such as the Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management, Diploma of Financial Planning (RG146), and FSR Tier 2 Certification.

Among his many accolades, Joshua was named Champion Broker of the Year by AFG in their 2020/2021 National Awards, a prestigious recognition of his excellence in client service, loan volume, and industry leadership. He was also a finalist for the MFAA Young Professional of the Year in 2016 and a semi-finalist in the 2010 Business Icon Competition, where he earned the title of Best Networker.
